Today’s blog post is all about one of my favorite insects, the butterfly
Here are some interesting factoids about butterflies, according to AI. They can taste with their feet, drink liquids with a straw-like tongue called a proboscis, and they fly using four wings covered in microscopic scales. As insects, they have exoskeletons, which are made of the same material as human fingernails. Their eyes definitely have human eyes beat. They have 6,000 lenses, and they can see the entire color spectrum, including ultraviolet and infrared. Are you jealous yet? I sure am!
Monarch butterflies are the ultimate adventurers. They travel approximately 2,000 miles, from the Great Lakes to the Gulf of Mexico. The monarchs that migrate have considerably longer lifespans than the ones that stay put. Migratory monarchs live six to nine months, while the butterflies that we see in the summer live anywhere from two to six weeks.
Monarch butterflies are beautiful, but here is a really odd factoid about their wings. Butterfly wings are actually transparent. The color comes from the microscopic scales covering the wing membranes. There are actually thousands of these scales, which is very astounding in my opinion. The result is incredibly beautiful.

They are mostly found in the southern part of the United States, but they’ve also been seen in Mexico and Central America and even as far south as South America and as far west as Hawaii. They symbolize transformation, resilience, and spiritural rebirth.

They symbolize transformation, new beginnings, grace, and the free nature of the human soul, as well as optimism.
