And, as in uffish thought he stood,
the jabberwock, with eye of flame,
came bursting through the tulgey wood
and burbled as it came.

This morning, I went to the Japanese gardens behind the Buffalo History Museum to see the cherry blossoms. I had read that they had opened, and I wanted to avoid a repetition of last year’s disastrous visit. On that sad day, I took two buses to get there. My first trip was to downtown Buffalo, and the second was from downtown to the Buffalo History Museum, located near Buffalo State University. All hopeful and excited, I arrived at the Buffalo History Museum to be met with a gusty wind. My hopes were somewhat lessened but, when I went to visit the Japanese Gardens, uffish thoughts took over. The trees had blossomed, but the wind blew all of the blossoms from the trees onto the grass. It was tragic. I returned home via two buses, thinking many uffish thoughts.
This year, there were no uffish thoughts. It was warm and there was no sign of a breeze, much less a wind.

When it’s good, it’s really, really good. The blossoms are such a soft and gentle color.

Tomorrow: The beautiful and colorful Delaware Park!

Alice, it definitely was an outstanding day for seeing the beauty of the cherry blossoms.
You did a marvellous job of bring their beauty to us.
I visited Japan in the spring a couple of years ago and toured around the islands but was not able to capture the blossoms as well as you have.
Well done, and snap and blog on!
Thank you so much, Doug. Visiting Japan in the spring must have been such a wonderful experience for you!
Beautiful photos – I never tire of seeing turtles, too.
