Of painting and doodling

Today, I painted this image. It is meant to be painting number two in a series of nine that I want to hang up together as one painting. They will be separate paintings, yet a single image.

A few months ago, I was doodling in church on my bulletin. And I came up with a tic tac toe-like image. So, I decided to turn that into a painting. I looked at the painting and thought that it looked happy so I hung it on the wall. And then, I realized that this painting is really little. It might be nice to have a bigger image. That was when I thought of making a funch of paintings. The original number was four. But I thought that a real tic tac toe image should be a set of nine paintings.

I chose to maintain the X and O image and to vary the third image with each painting. That would make a fun painting, I thought.

Here are the first two paintings of the series.

I am not sure when I will finish the series, but the journey creates the happiness. I also have no idea of what the next image will look like.

Imagination has its own time table.
