Inktober occurs in October. The challenge of Inktober is to draw a picture a day in pen and ink for an entire month. I have actually completed the challenge twice. I had tried for several years but gave up partly through until two years ago, when I was able to complete the challenge. The project is made more difficult with a prompt a day. I struggled with those prompts for quite some time before I realized that the prompts were my friends. Having a prompt meant that part of my work was done. I didn’t have to struggle to find something to draw. I could use the prompt that was given and interpret it in any way that I liked.
I also found out that there was a second challenge, called Inktober 52. With this challenge, I get one prompt per week for the entire year. The good thing about this is that it gives me more time to interpret the prompt. I’m finding that I really like the extra time, but I also enjoy the rapid pace of Inktober.
Here are three of my more recent images, with the prompts.

In what ways do you like to express your imagination?
Oh, Alice, I love your artwork! You are so talented! I really enjoyed seeing these, and I particularly love the “window” drawing. Awesome! Diana
Thank you so much, Diana!!!
