Turkeys and other feathered friends

Today, I am sharing pictures of birds that I’ve seen this year and last year here in Grand Island, New York, and elsewhere in Western New York.

Yesterday, I was headed to the Grand Island Town Hall for a meeting of the Historic Preservation Advisory Board when I saw this group of turkeys. I took their picture with my phone. They look very busy.

I saw this group of pelicans this summer at Beaver Island State Park.

Duck, duck, baby goose!

It’s time for an egret to do a happy dance!!!

“It’s party time!!!”

“Let’s go for a swim!” Mallard ducks love water because they have webbed feet.

A swan on an adventure…

… but it’s always better with friends…

Thank you for visiting! See you tomorrow with… something… I don’t know what yet!

  1. Beautiful pictures! They remind me of my son and I going to WhatBird.com or WhichBird? after he saw something he didn’t recognize. Then we ‘d go to the book, Animal Speak and find out the spiritual meaning of spotting them.

  2. Those turkeys are not turkeys, they are heading to Canada because our thanksgiving is over and yours is coming up. What is a little detour up to Canada while we are migrating south?
    Love the pictures Alice.
    Blog on.

    1. You’re right. Those turkeys are some clever birds. They know where they will be safe and where they are likely to be stuffed with apples and set on a platter!!!
      Thank you, Doug. Blog on!
