Today, I traveled to Florida. It was amazing to go from a frozen wasteland to warm and sunny. There are palm trees and live oaks and more. I will talk about them in the next few days. One of the great things about traveling is seeing different types of plants and birds.

The big highlight of the day was a visit to the Salvador Dali museum in St. Petersburg. I was in a group of five that went to the museum. It was absolutely beautiful, and I saw Dali paintings that I didn’t know anything about.

It seems that I didn’t know a whole lot about Salvador Dali. When I saw the exhibit at this gallery, I realized that I liked his work even more than I thought I did.

I learned that Salvador Dali got inspiration from the works of Diego Velasquez. In one of his paintings, he incorporated his own image, painting on the side. Velaszuez employed exactly that technique in his famous painting, “Las Meninas.”

After the visit to the museum, we took a nighttime walk by the water. The air was warm and the view was incredible. All of those city lights were beautiful. I usually don’t get good nighttime pictures but I did with this phone.

Very cool image at night.

This is a mosaic! I love these big circles and the bold colors.
And now, it’s sleepy time! More tomorrow!
