happy lunar new year

Today is the lunar new year, which is celebrated in much of eastern Asia. It occurs on the day of the second new moon following the winter solstice. The first new moon occurred on December 30th. The celebration, which begins today, will last for fifteen days and will end with the lantern ceremony. This new year ends the Year of the Dragon and it introduces the Year of the Snake.

  1. Thanks for reminding me. I looked it up.

The Year of the Snake in the Chinese zodiac is believed to bring wisdom, transformation, and strategic planning. Snakes are associated with intelligence, intuition, and mystery, making the year one of careful decision-making, deep thinking, and unexpected changes.

Does any of this resonate with you?

  2. Alice, thanks for posting your wonderful snake and deets of Year of the Snake. I love Chinese astrology and find it often resonates for me. I love the idea of shedding the old energy/skin and taking a thoughtful refreshed approach to our focus in this new year.
