Color and life: the Grand Island Garden Walk

The Town of Grand Island Garden Walk was held today, so I had the opportunity to take a tour of local gardens. Most of the gardens were located at private homes; however, one of the gardens was at Kaegebein Elementary School and another garden was located on the historic Alt farm.

The first garden is maintained by the students of the Kaegebein Garden Club and it includes a pollinator project, as well as raised beds for vegetables and flowers and fruit trees.

I was given an excellent tour of the garden by one of the members of the garden club.

The garden at the Alt farm is maintained by a couple: Nicole Gerber and Dave Reilly, who also have created a native habitat for wildlife and pollinators.
The weather was gorgeous, and it was a perfect day to explore gardens. Here are some of the pictures. Enjoy!
