Today, I am sharing pictures of bees that I have taken any time I saw a bee busy on a flower. Some bees are better at posing than others.

Most likely, our friend is a common eastern bumblebees. In the world of bees, bumblebees are friendly and docile and very unlikely to sting unless you directly threaten their nest. Bumblebees tend to be ground nesters.
This surface looks uncomfortable, but the bee likes it.
Honeybee on a dandelion. Some people call dandelions the first food of honeybees, but there are questions as to the quality of nutritition a honeybee is likely to get from the dandelion. This plant is nutritious for humans, and people do eat dandelions in salads or stir fries. I have tried dandelions but have found them to be bitter and unpleasant. Apparently, if you pick the leaves early in the season, there is less bitterness.

    Hi Alice,
    Although dandy lions are the earliest flower to bloom in the spring, I seldom see bees paying any attention to them.
    Do you take pictures of honey bees as well as bumble bees?
    This time of year I see a lot of wasps getting drunk from eating the apples that fall on the ground. They are not aggressive drunks.

      Hi Doug, Yes, I did take pictures of both honeybees and bumblebees. As for the drunken wasps, that is funny to watch. I’ve seen drunken hornets, as well. They are very happy drunks. They roll around in the apples and enjoy their inebriation.
