The mark a day project

week two!

Today is day 14 of the 31-day “mark a day” challenge. It’s been an interesting and positive experience. It helps me get a different understanding of what art is and how anyone has the potential to create an artistic design. By making one mark a day, I am focused on the journey and not on the destination. I am not concerned at all about the painting that this project is to become because I am focused on a small detail each day. I get to choose a color, a medium, and the shape of a mark. One mark each day. It’s really stress free.

According to Andy Warhol: “Don’t think about making art, just get it done. Let everyone else decide if it’s good or bad, whether they love it or hate it. While they are deciding, make even more art.”

Just create. Let your imagination loose. One mark a day grows and becomes an entire painting. It’s yours. It resembles no one else’s. It is the representation of your journey.

This is the image a week ago. Each week, there is growth and change in the image.

Pablo Picasso: “The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.”

  1. I agree with Andy Warhol when he said, “Don’t think about making art, just get it done. Let everyone else decide if it’s good or bad, whether they love it or hate it. While they are deciding, make even more art.” Our thoughts either shackle us or sets us free.

To me, your artwork depicts movement. Keep at it!
