The ducks’ journey

It was an overcast day when my friend Debbie and I decided to visit the Japanese Gardens behind the Buffalo History Museum. And that visit was the subject of yesterday’s reflection. Today, it’s more about observation than reflection. Observation of two ducks out for a swim. One thing that I noticed about then is that, no matter what, they stuck together.

The ducks approach land. Maybe there’s something tood to eat on this itty bitty island? I looked up reasons for ducks to go on land online and found out that it’s to find suitable nesting areas, forage for food, avoid predators, or find a pleasant place to rest.

“See our lovely feet? Don’t you want feet that are as adorable as ours?”

“Make up your mind! I’m going, with or without you.”
“How rude!!
(whoops! Are the ducks having a spat?)

“Let’s explore this great big world!”
“It’s a little island.”
“Killjoy!”

“We’re here!:”
“What’s for lunch?”

“That was a lot of work. Naptime!!!”

They have lovely feet. So orange! I noticed that they were lined up, in a row most of the time.
So they were! Very organized, symmetrical birds!
I love watching the ducks at our pond, it’s like they don’t have a care in the world, just swimming around or looking for food.
That is the wonderful about the ducks. They always look happy. Or hungry. Then they find food so they aren’t hard to please.
I thought you going to start back at the beginning with D for Ducks.
It is a little cold for me to go swimming. Maybe that is why they go ashore, to warm up their feet.
It’s too cold for me to swim, as well. But the ducks took to the water like… ducks…
