Interesting plants in other places

I am in Virginia, visiting family. It’s really delightful to be here. I am so excited to be with my lovely family, as well as to explore different places. Well, not much exploration today because it was so impressively hot.

Since I wasn’t taking a long walk on such a hot and humid day, I chose to take a look at some of the plants that I don’t see at home. It didn’t take long before I noticed trees with huge flowers. I was fascinated. What is that? I pointed my handy dandy plant identification app at it and found out that it is a crepe Myrtle.

Crepe Myrtle is known as the southern lilac in the southern part of the United States. In China, the crepe Myrtle is considered to be an emblem of good luck. The Crepe Myrtle is native to China and Korea.

In addition to good luck, crepe Myrtle is also associated with eloquence, obsessed love, femininity, household peace, and marriage.
