Images from the Grand Island Garden Walk

Yesterday, my friend Phyllis and I enjoyed the Grand Island Garden Walk. This walk featured nine gardens that were located all over Grand Island. There were some new gardens featured on the walk, as well as the gardens belonging to experienced Garden Walk people. Here are some of the images from our experience.

Our first stop wasn’t even on the Garden Walk. We visited the Buddhist temple, which had an open house yesterday. This meditation center has been open since 2019.

It was fun to travel around the island and explore the plant life and how it made each of the gardens on the walk unique.

So simple, yet so pretty.
Relaxing spot for a warm summer’s afternoon.
You can’t see it in this picture, but this thisle is blue-ish. Usually, I find thistle to be annoying to remove, but this thistle is gorgous and definitely unworthy of an unceremonious eradication!
This is the plant version of a rock star.
We also visited Eco Island, a former Nike Base that now belongs to the Grand Island Central School District. It and its grounds are an ecological educational center that offers hands-on instruction to children about nature and the animals and plants around them. This center is a great treasure for the school district.
More Grand Island garden loveliness.

Come back tomorrow for more pictures of the Grand Island Garden Walk!

  1. I wish we had Garden Walks in my City because I would ask my friends to go with me because I love looking at unique Gardens people have created. Thank you for sharing and I can’t wait to see more.

    1. You’re so welcome! There will be more pictures from this garden walk and, in two weeks, there will be pictures from the Buffalo Garden Walk, which is the largest free, self-directed garden walk in the United States!
