It’s day fifteen of the Ultimate Blogging Challenge and of Inktober. The prompt for today is guidebook.
After leaving the Land of Hornets and Yellow Jackets, Baby Bear and his parents decided to write a guide book of their adventures. They started with a visit to the forest of the capuchin monkeys.
“The capuchin monkeys are very funny and entertaining,” Baby Bear told his parents. “I’m going to draw their portrait.”
“Oh, that’s nice,” said Momma Bear. “What would you think of being an artist?”
“Nope,” said Baby Bear. “I want to travel the seas.”
“Well,” said Momma Bear. “You could paint the walls of your boat while you don’t have to steer it.”
“Oh, Momma,” said Baby Bear. “You’re so silly. The boat would crash into the side of an island if I forgot to steer it.”
“Well, anything is possible,” said Momma Bear. “Tell me what the Queen of the Hornets told you.”
“She said not to be afraid and that we are always loved,” said Baby Bear. “She told me the story of how hornets traveled long distances and how they couldn’t find friends and were really sad.”
“Oh, we are all sad if we can’t find friends. You never have to worry about that, Baby Bear. You will always find friends,” said Momma Bear.
At that moment, a very young capuchin monkey swung on a vine from the deep forest and landed on Baby Bear’s shoulders, causing Baby Bear to fall on the ground. The capuchin monkey and Baby Bear enthusiastically wrestled with each other, making fake growl noises and snorting. After a gleeful wrestling session, the monkey and the bear rolled around, laughing and snorting.
“You’re so silly,” said the monkey.
“You’re even sillier,” said Baby Bear. “Hey, I know where we can pick some great bananas. Let’s go get them.”
The bear and the monkey ran off, as Baby Bear’s parents laughed gleefully.
how fun! I especially like when Momma Bear told Baby Bear that he’s always have friends.
That’s as good as it gets!
Baby Bear is having such a great adventure and he seems to make friends with everyone! Such a great story Alice.
Thank you so much! Baby Bear has a special gift. He made friends with the hornets, and everyone was afraid of them!
