today’s adventure and a request

Today’s prompt from the Ultimate Blogging Challenge was to make a request, which I will do at the end of this post.

Today, I went to the Medically Oriented Gym (MOG) for a restore session. All I have to do is to lie on a massage table and a trained person stretches my body. The person doing the stretching is Ethan, who recently graduated from the State University of New York in Brockport with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology. That is the study of human body movement. I think that’s totally fascinating. Anyway, in one session, Ethan found all of my tight muscles.

The stretching session felt good. When it was done, I felt very loose and relaxed. After setting more appointments with Ethan, I started walking home. The weather was perfect for a walk. It is a mild autumn day, with full sunshine. There was absolutely nothing to dislike about that. At this time of year, a beautiful day like this is a treat, as opposed to something to be expected.

Aren’t these little ones so cute?

My next stop was at JB’s Coffee and Kitchen. It’s a new place to get sandwiches, coffee, baked goods, and more. The breads that they use for their sandwiches come from bakers who work in their own kitchens, right here on Grand Island. as well as other places in Western New York. Other local goodies include the coffee blends and the maple syrup. The bakers, listed on the menu, are The Little Bee Bread Co. (Grand Island), Cassorla’s Bagels (Grand Island), Merle Maple (Attica, N.Y.), Sourdough by Amanda (Grand Island), and Tipico Coffee (Buffalo, N.Y.) I really appreciate how much the owner, Patrick Antonelli, supports local business. I also appreciate so much that he offers the alternative of gluten free bread, wonderfully made by Sourdough by Amanda.

At JB’s Coffee and Kitchen, I bought a grilled cheese sandwich. It’s more than just cheese and the aforementioned gluten-free sourdough bread. The sandwich included caramelized onions and a tomato, as well as cheddar cheese.

I got to see the dramatic color of the trees.

I arrived home happy and truly enjoyed my lunch. Half of my sandwich is in the refrigerator, where it will be delicious as an upcoming lunch.

I am thankful for the sunshine, for my stretching session, and for the wonderful meal. I am also thankful for my health. I am also happy that I walked six and a half miles today and got 15,234 steps.

And now, my request to you! (which I will repeat tomorrow!)

Ask me anything. Anything at all. I will check my comments today and tomorrow and I will answer all of your questions in an upcoming blog post!
