This beautiful mug was a Christmas gift from my nephew James. He is a bicycle racer and the president of a local bicycle club, the Buffalo Bicycling Club/the BBC. One of the club members is a man named Bryan Hopkins, a studio artist who has a specialty in pottery. He creates the most incredible, gorgeous pottery. I just checked out his artist page on Facebook. His work involves a variety of textures and materials. The mug above incorporates gears from bicycles, which creates a really interesting effect. It is my new favorite mug, so you can probably expect at some point for me to paint its portrait (filled with tea, of course).
Here are three more ceramics works created by Bryan. Each one has a very unique texture. I am beyond happy that James gave this beautiful three-dimensional art to me as gifts. I couldn’t love them more. I would definitely want to visit Bryan’s studio space if he were to have an open house or an exhibit.

How lovely!!
I love from tea, cocoa or coffee from favorite cups and mugs – many handmade! I gave my granddaughter Alyssa one from a desert potter for Christmas- she’d given me one she made whilst in HS a decade ago!
I also adore my collection of handcrafted wooden spoons!
