Inktober, day thirteen. The prompt was horizon.
The bears sit together as a group. Baby Bear has been gone for hours, visiting the Queen of the Hornets. The bears sit and they wonder and they don’t speak. The sun rises high in the sky, and the bears still sit and wait. Before long, the sun is setting. Still, no sign of Baby Bear.
Momma and Poppa Bear stand up slowly. They have been sitting in one position all day, and their joints are sore. They walk and they watch the sunset and they look at the mountains far off in the horizon. But they don’t speak.
They look at the colors of the sky and they look at each other and they are filled with love.
They walk back to the rest of the bears and they continue to wait as the sky darkens, the stars twinkle, the moon rises, and darkness falls…
Oh my, I hope Baby Bear is okay, he didn’t get lost did he? Or maybe just having a good time with the Queen of the Hornets!
I had the opportunity to watch My Penguin Friend on the weekend – one of the scenes is waiting, waiting, waiting for Dindim to return on his 5000 mile annual journey to Brazil!!

I love seeing the family adventures and this one makes me a little bit nervous about baby bear. Baboo my neighborhood bear knocked over my trash can and took things out last Saturday!
