It’s the journey, not the destination…

Baby Bear and his parents and the other bears are on their journey, their pilgrimage to the mountains. At first, Baby Bear was excited to be given his name, to have an identity that matched his dreams and to find his future. As the hike continued, Baby Bear began to understand that it was each moment of the trip that mattered.

The bears had been traveling for some time in beautiful, sunny weather. One day, however, it rained and the lightning danced in jagged lines brightly across the sky and the thunder crashed and echoed deep inside of Baby Bear’s head. The fun journey had turned into a difficult trip. The bears kept walking through the thunder, the lightning and the rain. Baby Bear felt damp and cold and he didn’t do a happy dance all day.

That night, Baby Bear had trouble sleeping.

“Baby Bear’s bed was lumpy and too soft. Baby bear sat up and looked out the window at the moon and the stars and the dark nighttime sky. The rain smashed against the rocks and it bounced into the grass. Slowly, Baby Bear was lulled into sleeping…
