I is for imagination

Big bear, tiny city, so many taste treats…

“This world is but a canvas to our imagination.”

Henry David Thoreau

What kind of dessert would you imagine a bear would eat if the bear were to wander into a city? I’m going to find out by going on a whimsical trip via an acrostic poem. This form of poem uses all of the letters in a word or name as the first letter of each line of the poem. It’s an easy and fun poetic form, as it doesn’t involve rhyme or meter. You don’t have to count syllables. The acrostic is a good poetic form for all sorts of purposes, such as advertising. An advertisement about food would be delightful if done in an acrostic format. The below acrostic is all about food and imagination.

  • Imagine a bear wandering in a city with tall buildings and restaurants with patios.
  • Mice running through alleys, between the bear’s feet.
  • As the bear travels, he smells honey
  • Greeting his nose, calling his name
  • Inviting, enticing, aromatic.
  • Napkins for a stuffed bear that has come to life in the land of the Liliputians?
  • And then, the bear sees…
  • The bakery of all bakeries
  • Inside, he smells honey, cinnamon, butter, phyllo dough, vanilla extract…
  • Oh! so delicious, the bear thinks
  • Nice! Delicious, the bear sneaks in and startles the customer when he takes a taste test.
Bears and humans are attracted to delicious honey. And baklava is sooooo good!!!! I don’t know if bears like baklava, but I do know that humans love it.
