Okay (that’s an O word)…. maybe not, but it’s still fun alliteration. And it’s good to be open to the opportunities, no matter what the opportunities may be, even just making up random alliterations. Speaking of which, tomorrow is a “P” day and “P” stands for “poem,” so you might see some fun alliteration tomorrow.
Today, it’s all about the continuing Easter project. I’ve been giving away the wooden eggs, almost as fast as I can paint them. When I started this project, I never anticipated keeping all of those eggs. I wanted them to find their new homes and to be little expressions of love. And nearly everyone I have offered eggs to choxse and took an egg. Only one person said no.
“Is it chocolate,” this apparently hungry individual asked.
“No, it’s wood,” I said happily. I tried to imagine drawing on chocolate, but my imagination failed me this time.

The I want a handpainted choocolate egg person declined the egg. I gave that egg to another person.
Today, I went out to lunch with four friends. Just outside the restaurant was a little pond, filled with fish. No, I didn’t put an egg in the fish pond. The name of the restaurant is the Royal Family Restaurant.

So, the plan was for my group of five to enjoy lunch together. We were especially excited to see Debbie, who spends much of the year in Florida. The last time we saw her was when we visited her in Florida. We’re already planning another Florida adventure. I am very excited about kayaking in Florida because… birds. There. I said it. I will now travel long distances to look at and photograph birds. You see? I’m admitting this birdy fascination. But I digress. Anyway, back to the plan. It changed a little when Nancy said she was going to bring her granddaughter. By then, I already had decided to give eggs to the group. I painted five and was going to keep one. But plans change, which is okay. I wasn’t going to give eggs only to the adults and ignore the kid. That wouldn’t be very nice. As it turned out, however, the young lady decided to stay with her dad so she could play videogames. Well, as far as I am concerned, that’s fine. It’s her school break and she certainly can enjoy herself!
“For lunch, I had a very delicious salad. It was filled with all sorts of good things, including strawberries, blueberries, romaine lettuce, walnuts, feta cheese, and much more. I really enjoyed that. I have to say that going out to eat while on a gluten-free diet can be challenging. And then, when you also remove highly processed foods from your diet (or rather, your nutritionist removes them), you’ve got even more challenge in finding suitable foods. But this salad was perfect. I was happy because I tend to read menus in advance of going out for a meal in hopes that there is something that my very fussy digestive system will accept without getting all mean and cranky.
The server was very nice and helpful. So… the fifth egg that I brought went to her. And she was so happy to get an egg. She said she would display her egg with the rest of her Easter decorations. And I felt very happy that I could spread joy.

And I wanted to spread more joy, so I am continuing to paint. Here is a mushroom, a floral egg, and a glittery silver egg.
Spreading the joy means a lot to me. I have experienced times when I didn’t think that I would ever find the joy. I know people who feel that way right now.
Well, that’s all for now. Tomorrow, I am going to the Easter egg hunt at the local library and then I will share a bunch of poetry here. One of the other bloggers, named Vidya, has been sharing poems, along with lesson plans for teaching kids about poetry writing, every day this month. Every day, it’s a different poetic form. So, in the comment section, I share my efforts at all sorts of poetic forms. They are always spontaneous. And I have discovered that poetry is fun. State tuned for tomorrow’s post!

I love how your egg project spreads so much joy! It’s such a sweet way to brighten someone’s day. Looking forward to your poetry post tomorrow!
Thank you so much, Jasmine!
Have I noticed a trend? Do you paint all of the eggs for the day with the same base coat colour then add the unique decoration later when they have dried?
Have you tried olive oil on oranges?
Yes, you’re absolutely right. I choose a theme for the day and then add decorations after the base coat has dried!!! And no, I’ve never tried olive oil on oranges. Thank you for the suggestion!!!
I love the Mushroom and would go perfectly with our Gnome and Fairy Garden we will be setting up this week. Thank you for sharing and I hope to see more of the Eggs you’ve painted.
