Winter has come with a vengeance, so I stayed at home today and painted. This is a home for love birds. The darkness and dreariness of winter have been fun to watch. In fact, as I write this blog post, I’m watching the snow falling on top of already-copious snow. It’s a great thing to watch from inside. The snow has been pretty. But there isn’t much color. I felt the need for color, so I got out some watercolor paper and some paints, and I painted this image. I chose these colors because they’re bright and fun and happy.
I definitely recommend doing something creative on a bad weather day, such as painting, writing poetry, baking cookies, crocheting, sewing, or anything else that you enjoy doing. I found that painting helped me feel better about myself and about life in general. It gave me something to focus on that was positive and light and calming.
