It’s a baby… succulent!

A few months ago… well, when it wasn’t freezing cold and snowy, I bought a few succulents at Leaf, Stone and Steel, this wonderful plant store in my town. It’s a relatively new store that opened last summer. The store features plants and lots of creative stuff, many of which are plant related and will make your houseplant collection look beautiful and very artistic! Here are some examples of the creative stuff.

There are super fun flower pots available for purchase. These are cats that will not taste test your plants, which is always a really good thing! They will definitely add the fun to your indoor plant collection.

Imagine a home like these for your new plants? This means that you’re not just having a bunch of indoor plants; you now have your own private plant art museum!

Aren’t thse pretty? One of them is my new plant baby! Which reminds me…

How did I find out I had a baby succulent???

When I was at the store, I was told that, if a leaf fell off, lay that leaf flat in the flower pot and, eventually, it would grow roots and become a baby plant!

And that’s exactly what happened!

This morning, when I brought one of my succulents to the kitchen to be watered, I noticed the baby in the flower pot. I had to go out, so I set the flower pot in a whole bunch of water so the plant could be watered from the bottom. Then I went to my circuit training class at the gym.

When I came home, I took a look at the big plant.

It was time to give the baby a home of its own!

Planted and watered!!!! Meet my first baby succulent. I’ve never raised a succulent from a baby plant so I am excited to see what happens next!!!

  1. Congratulations gramma.
We have only kept the succulents as houseplants because they only need to be watered once a week.
There is an exception, an orchid that has been thriving in a large north window.

  2. How exciting to discover a baby succulent growing from a fallen leaf! I love how you’ve nurtured it into its own little home—it’s such a rewarding and special experience. The idea of creating your own plant art museum with those charming pots is so inspiring! Have you tried propagating any other plants this way?

  3. I never knew this but my son has both a Succulent Garden and a Cactus Garden and I will be trying this in the Future. As for the Pots we thought they were cute and would have liked the Mushroom Pot to plant Mushrooms for my husband. I wish we had this store to visit.
