Today, all of the smoke detectors and pull cords in this apartment building were tested. The pull cords are things that you pull if you feel really sick or if you’ve fallen and can’t get up, assuming that you conveniently fall next to a pull cord. There are pull cords in the bathroom and the bedroom. They hang from the wall. I’ve never needed to use one, and, fortunately, Trinity hasn’t decided that the pull cord was a fun cat toy, which could cause emergency personnel to show up to rescue a very happy cat.
I had to get away from the apartment building because of the loud and high pitched noises that the testing produces for approximately three hours. Because of my hyperacusis, I cannot tolerate the noise. It feels like knives going into my ears. I knew that I would need to be rescued from the terrible sounds. Fortunately, my friend Anna was there to save the day! She took her sister Cathy and me to the Fashion Outlet Mall in Niagara Falls for some mall walking fun. I’ve never actually done mall walking and I had no idea how that worked. As it turned out, mall walking was fun! There were even good photo ops to be had at the mall.

Just walking in the mall turned out to be a really good idea. I did some fun window shopping and I got a lot of steps. More than I have for quite some time, just because of this frozen weather experience. After the mall walk was over, I was excited to check my phone and discover that I had 11,735 steps. At this time of year, I am super happy to have 10,000 steps.
I even bought these slippers at the mall. They were on sale! Aren’t they adorable? They have ears!

Thanks for making me smile! Your photos are a delight!
Oh, thank you so much!!!!!
Love the barrel photo!
I agree, mall walking can be a great diversion, as well as a good way to get in one’s steps. And it’s a good respite from the cold in winter, and the heat in summer.
Thank you! I did have a fun time in the mall!
Love your photos, Alice. Malls are great places to walk in winter for seniors and not so seniors. I did that for awhile when I was younger. Now I take my 94 year old father there to walk and have a coffee. Great place to meet some interesting people, too. We are not so cold now. Only -10℃ at the moment and it’s 7 pm.
Thank you so much, Lily. I really never imagined that a mall would be this much fun!!! I’m happy that you take your dad to the mall. It’s nice to have that quality time with him.
