D is for delicate

I went back to my friend, the Random Word Generator, and let it choose a D word for me. In its infinite wisdom or what I’d like to imagine to be its infinite wisdom, it chose this lovely word for me. I wondered how I might express “delicate” and searched online for an image that I might interpret. I chose to draw an image because I didn’t know how to draw a cat’s purr. And my cat produces a most wonderful purr. Trinity sounds like a little motor, humming along happily. The machine is very definitely functional. This former stray cat now knows that she is safely at home, that she will never have to fend for herself again. It means that she can be free to be possessive of her toy… um… human. Right now, she is washing her face, delicately. She is delicate, and she is lovely and I’m not biased in the least, right?

But I digress. My best skill. Or so, it seems. Speaking about delicate, in the next day or two, one million people will descend upon Western New York to see the eclipse. It seems that the best viewing is here. It should be an historic event. I’ve been excited about it for quite some time. I don’t know if I would call it delicate, however. That might be a stretch. Well… I guess that I could make that stretch… delicately.

  1. The total solar eclipse that will happen on April 8, 2024, is a warning sign from the Almighty Creator (Yahweh) in heaven that something is coming in the US and in other parts of the world if people won’t repent and change their ways!

  2. Hi Alice, fascinating how you use the computer technology to help to generate ideas – i’m still unfamiliar with how to do that – so I realise I’m getting a bit behind now! You mentioned a cat’s paw. I like the pattern of the image you uploaded here – is that the drawing / painting that you created? I’m wondering if you’ve come across an artist called Nansy? She specialises in painting cats, and is very popular. If you fancy taking a look at her art work, she has a facebook page called “Monster Nip-Art” at https://www.facebook.com/twotcat/

    1. Thank you, Alice. I did draw the picture that I posted. My mediums were pencil, marker, and alcohol ink marker. And no, I have never come across Nansy, but I will be sure to check out her page.

  3. Alice, you’re telling me New Yorkers are getting an earthquake AND a solar eclipse within the same week? Please make sure to share your experience with the rest of us, like the ones living in Europe (me).

    1. Well, it’s at different ends of the state, but yes. I will definitely make sure to share my experiences during the solar eclipse. The earthquake. No, too far away! I didn’t feel it.

  4. Alice, how wonderful your delicate cat is settling in. And you two really like each other. It’ a delicate balance you can’t predict before you adopt a living being. I can hear her delicate micromotor purring as we speak. If I could breathe around cats, I would have two. On a different subject: alcohol markers– I got a set of about 40 and have never opened them– any suggestions as to where to start?– are they really for filling in line drawings? Thanks, Alice–
