The bears had arrived at a meadow, surrounded by hedges that were neatly trimmed by… someone? In the center of the meadow, there was a large maze. Baby Bear and some of the other cubs ran through it gleefully. The adult bears looked at it and laughed. They asked each other if they were lost, if, somehow, they had strayed from the trail.
Someone had created a maze and that someone was no longer there. The adults went into the maze and explored, as well.
And then, all of the bears began to dance, which attracted wood thrushes, who began singing in low tones and ending with high, gentle trills. The bears danced to the wood thrushes’ music. The wood thrushes were singing about the inner peace that the bears wished that they had but which had eluded them when they felt afraid of the hornets. As the songs continued, the bears felt more and more calm and more and more happy in that mysterious maze in a meadow on their way to the mountain gathering. And they no longer worried about being lost.
Sounds like a party, Alice. I wouldn’t mind joining in.
What a sweet story!
Speaking of a maze, I got lost in one a few years ago! I had to have a 6 year old help me find my way out! LOL I’m glad the bears were happy and found their way!
Hmmm is it about finding order within chaos? I think humans relate this way too! We feel comforted by a party, and feel led in our journey!
