I really enjoyed the responses to yesterday’s blog post so much that I decided to continue this conversation. I love talking about creativity, and I am beyond happy that you are so willing to participate in this conversation.

This comment came from Jennifer: We share a lot of creative outlets! I love drawing, painting, and collage! I also got back into crochet a few months ago. I haven’t been able to spend as much time at it as I would like. How long have you been crocheting? Also what is your favorite football team? My husband is a 49ers fan, so I am one through marriage haha! I also cheer for the Buffalo Bills. I grew up in Syracuse, NY. Buffalo is not far from there and I remember watching them lose those four Super Bowl games in the 90s 🙁
Jennifer, I’ve been crocheting off and on since I was a teenager. When I was sixteen, my younger sister taught me how to crochet. There have been times when I ignored my crochet hooks, but, right now, I’m really into it.
My favorite football team is the Buffalo Bills!

That was one of my art projects last year!
And now… guess what? I was born in Syracuse, New York! I lived there until I was twelve years old. We lived not too far from Syracuse University, in the Westcott neighborhood. Well, I was actually shy of my twelfth birthday when we moved downstate, where we lived for three years, until we moved to the Buffalo area. Yes, those Superbowls were wild. It’s hard to believe that the Bills made the Superbowl four years in a row!

Barbara says: I like to think I’m fairly creative, but truth be told I can copy almost anything.
My creative outlets are paper crafts such as scrapbooking, photography, and recently I’ve been getting into miniatures.
Copying is great. It’s really good practice for drawing and painting skills.
Scrapbooking is so awesome! What a wonderful and creative way to preserve memories of events and activities. I still have a scrapbook that I created after I did a long walk with a group from Chicago, Illinois, to St. Paul, Minnesota. The walk was called the Witness Against War walk. It took seven weeks for us to walk 500 miles (804.7 km). I also kept journals of the experience, and I took pictures. I did that walk in the summer of 2007. It’s a wonderful reminder of that experience. I love looking at it and remembering all of the places that I saw and the people I met.
Photography is wonderful, especially now that we have our phones and digital cameras. It used to be too expensive a hobby with film, when you had to have all of the pictures developed to discover one or two good pictures. The rest were blurry, off center, and there were random fingers in the way of the lens!
Enjoy the miniatures. That sounds like so much fun!
I might do another comments and conversation post next week and then possibly make it into a regular feature of this blog! What do you think and what sorts of topics would you like me to get into?
